Melbourne’s underground performance scene is an amazing source of inspiration for artists and is the well from which we draw our models, inviting them to our community where we celebrate the fun often left behind as adults with creativity and drawing.

Join us on Thursday October 19th, at 24 Moons Bar, Northcote for an night with THE BEAST

BEAST is a glimpse into the imagination; a tale spun on the dichotomy of the Beauty and Beast… But it is no Disney fairy tale…

“A refined story arc, invocation of archetypes, manifestation of myth underpinned by erotic movement, sepia sight and vintage sound…” www.absinthe.com.au

Starring two of Melbourne’s prominent Burlesque performance artists – Kerryx & Bella De Jac, Beast brings these two talented women together on the stage in an unforgettable experience. Known within the entertainment Industry for their divergent, and captivating styles of performance, these two darlings of burlesque have teamed up to create a dark, deviant story time for grown-ups.

Whether you’re an artstar or a scribbling newbie, Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School is the perfect place to get your fill of drawing fun.

Art brings people together, regardless of age, colour, gender or sexual orientation.

Melbourne’s underground performance scene is an amazing source of inspiration for artists and is the well from which we draw our models, inviting them to our community where we celebrate the fun often left behind as adults in creativity and drawing.

With a cast comprised of infamous Melbourne feminists, performance artists and one neuro-scientist – KillJoy is the long-awaited collaboration of the hearts and minds of Cat ScobieMahla Bird and Amy Broomstick (Bam Bam)

Killjoy interrogates the power dynamics at play in objectification, gender, possession, violence, freedom, redemption, and responsibility.

Theatre and the visual arts have been separated for too long. We seek to combine them, providing a space for people of all abilities to draw the flourishing alternative performance scene that might otherwise be inaccessible to the lone artist.

Art brings people together, regardless of age, colour, gender or sexual orientation. We believe in using Dr. Sketchy to bring together the different subcultures of a city to create a community. Artists and art hobbyists of all stripes can attend, performers of all types can pose, local businesses can contribute as sponsors and venues. This bringing together of scenes and crossing of boundaries is essential to what we do.

We are honoured that his Dr Sketchy session will be the first sighting of KillJoy in the public domain! Catch the full show, including live band at Melbourne Fringe – Sept 25 – 30 @ The Melba Speigeltent

Artists and art hobbyists of all stripes attend, performers of all types pose. This bringing together of scenes and crossing of boundaries is essential to what we do.

Dr. Sketchy has been a boon to the art scene since its inception, promoting creativity and community in every city that runs one.

A wildly inclusive event– young and old, those who have drawn before, and those who have never picked up a pencil, this is the perfect place to get your fill of drawing fun.

Like Kurt Vonnegut said “practising an art, no matter how well or how badly is a way to make your soul grow”.

Camilla & Michelle inhabit 60s gogo, Parisian salons, altars of love, 90s film clips and gothic nightmares.

If you imagine it, they do it…
On their bodies.

Guts of a showgirl and glitter in their veins, its like Beyonce and Martha Graham made out.

Unforgettable art

Unforgettable art

Words fail me.

In 11 years of Dr Sketchys Melbourne I have never experienced a session like that.

I am humbled by all the art monkeys that come to draw each month, I am in awe of AGENT CLEAVE & DANDROGYNY and the skill, bravery & commitment they give to their art, and grateful to 24 Moons Bar for being the perfect home.

Feast your eyes on some of what was captured and join our Facebook group for more.

Go on.. take a drag

Go on.. take a drag

Drag Assassin, Agent Cleave and Drag Diva, DANDROGYNY hit the Dr Sketchy stage on Thursday 27 July at 24 Moons Bar, Northcote.

Dandrogyny. A hybrid of dance, drag, queerness, openness and love. A fusion of man, woman, other, everything, colour and shade. Dandrogyny encapsulates the beauty and the beast, the truth and the subversion of truth, and is all types of gorgeous.

Agent Cleave. Cabaret glamour mashed with trashy rock ‘n’ pop roar, Cleave is THE showstopper.  Spending the last 5 years touring the world dancing for Peaches and the RUB tour, Cleave returns to flood Melbourne with his blood, sweat and…. tears. yeah, his tears..

Dr Sketchy’s is back on stage!

On Monday April 24, we return in 2017 to a new venue and seduce you and your pencil with a never before seen muse. A goddess, seductress, an empress and warrior.

ChanelleRogers11
Ms Rogers, Go-Go dancer, lingerie model, womens rights advocate. The most romantic muse the Dr Sketchy stage has seen will drip her glamour and her garments throughout the evening.

Performer, exhibitionist, activist, and truly hopeless romantic, Chanelle sweeps up the most passionate of experiences and embraces them through every medium she can get her hands on.

Through her lifes work of exploring and understanding the art of exhibitionism, Chanelle finds a joy like no other in expressing herself through her body for the pleasure of others. Her heart is on her sleeve with every move and she wants you to take it and love it. Chanelle performs as much on the internet as she does on the stage.

She’s featured in live works by Boon Companions, Supple Fox, and Guerilla Museum; at the likes of Dark Mofo, Melbourne Festival, Brisbane Festival; live on Network Ten and her own instagram feed; and from adult clubs to exhibition openings across the country.

You can see more of her fetish, bondage, and erotic photography, or learn about her live performance, by following her @letsmakebeauty

You can follow the workers rights campaign she spearheads with lingerie-star Bellentina at #notyourhoney
